Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx recently addressed concerns about his family’s safety and privacy in a detailed response shared on X.
The statement came after a fan questioned why Sixx no longer shares photos of his daughter Ruby on social media. Sixx explained the serious security concerns that have led to this decision.
“Because we’ve been stalked and our family has been threatened multiple times the last few years,” Sixx said. “Some are in jail now but Ruby doesn’t need to be exposed to millions of people, mostly cool fans but she is more important to us than posting photos and from experience, it’s proven to not be safe for her.”
The musician emphasized his commitment to protecting his children from potential dangers.
“She deserves better. Thats me and my wife protecting her from mentally ill people,” he continued. “My older kids prefer their privacy as well.”
Sixx also detailed the security measures his family has taken to ensure their safety.
“We have strong law enforcement relationships (as well as lawyers who have put stalkers in jail) but we also live in Wyoming on private property and we are locked and loaded and know our rights to protect our family,” he added. “Nothing in my life matters more than my family.”
This latest statement comes amid ongoing legal battles that have significantly impacted the rock star’s family life over the past few years.
ABC 3340 reported that Sixx has been dealing with two separate stalkers during recent years. One case resulted in legal fees being awarded to the musician. The severity of these incidents has prompted federal involvement in the investigations.
KOMO News confirmed that the FBI is actively investigating one of the stalking cases. This highlights the serious nature of the threats against Sixx and his family. The federal investigation underscores the escalation of harassment that has forced the family to take extraordinary security measures.
The legal proceedings have yielded concrete results. Fox Chattanooga verified that one of the stalkers was sentenced to nearly a year behind bars. This sentencing represents a significant victory for the family’s safety and sends a clear message about the consequences of such threatening behavior.
Beyond the legal victories, Sixx has also taken proactive steps to gather evidence against his harassers. CBS Austin noted that the musician has turned over new video surveillance footage of the stalkers to authorities. This demonstrates his commitment to building strong cases against those who threaten his family’s well-being.
