Gene Simmons made a powerful confession to his wife with a wedding anniversary message on X. The KISS icon paid tribute to Shannon Tweed-Simmons on the 15th anniversary of their wedding. He married her after years of dating, during which he has admitted he was unfaithful many times and regretted it.
In the post, Simmons described what his wife means to him and to their family.
“Today is Shannon and my wedding anniversary,” Simmons said. “I’m so proud to be standing beside her. She is the love, life, and moral compass of our family.”
He then reflected on what his life would be like without her.
“Without her, I’m sure I would have been an empty shell of a man,” he continued. “I’ve married Shannon twice, and will marry Shannon again. And again. As long as I live. I love my wifey.”
Tweed-Simmons also responded in a separate post.
“Happy anniversary to the greatest scribble of all time and thank you to whoever did this it’s perfect for us,” Tweed-Simmons said. “And we are perfect for each other.”
The anniversary message carries extra weight because of how long the couple’s story has run. Their marriage came after decades together, and the path to the altar was not always smooth.
Simmons and Tweed-Simmons married on Oct. 1, 2011, at The Beverly Hills Hotel in California. The ceremony took place on the hotel’s lawn. Their two children were among the guests.
The couple first met in 1983 and have been together ever since. They waited 28 years to make it official. That long courtship makes the 15th anniversary a milestone in a relationship that now spans more than four decades.
They have two children, Nick and Sophie. Nick was born in 1989 and Sophie in 1992. Simmons has often described his family as the most important part of his life.
“We’ve proved it in creating two new, wonderful, amazing forms of life — our kids.”
Their relationship also played out in public through the reality series Gene Simmons Family Jewels. The show documented family tensions, including Simmons’ past infidelity, as part of the couple’s long-running storyline.
