The bassist expressed his perspective on contemporary music production. He also responded to questions about his career accolades.

“I’m getting bored with the over produced sounding rock records these days and to answer the constant question ‘Why am I not in the Songwriters Hall Of Fame’ all I can say is that I haven’t been asked. YET,” he continued.

These comments point to potential new material in development. No specific release details have been announced.

Sixx’s recent statements hint at his creative direction during an active period of musical exploration for the veteran musician.

Reports from Metal Edge Magazine revealed Sixx’s ongoing collaboration with guitarist John 5. The two musicians have been writing random riffs despite the band’s current focus on live performances.

The band has shifted its immediate priorities to live shows. See Rock Live reported that Mötley Crüe is preparing for their Las Vegas residency. The band will also appear at major festivals including Welcome to Rockville and Summerfest.

Recent social media updates confirmed that Mötley Crüe isn’t currently focused on releasing new music. The band members remain engaged in various creative processes. Sixx particularly explores different melodies and lyrics for potential future songs.

This new direction represents a notable shift for Sixx. The musician has built his career crafting some of rock’s most memorable anthems. Now he seeks to blend the catchiness of Cheap Trick with the raw energy of garage rock.
