Nikki Sixx Shares What Changed In His Performance After Getting Sober

Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx recently shared a post on Twitter to answer one of his fans’ questions about his longtime sobriety and successful performances. Sixx also highlighted the differences between his drug-fuelled performances and sober ones.

As you know, Sixx had been struggling with his severe drug addiction for many years, just like all other members of Mötley Crüe. In one of his heroin overdoses, Sixx was actually dead for two minutes until he was revived with two syringes of adrenaline. This deadly experience helped him realize that he had to get rid of his addiction and start a new life.

Since then, Sixx has focused on living healthier and he recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of his sobriety by saying that ‘you are the miracle, the one that breaks the addiction chain.’ Also, Sixx has made it his mission to raise awareness about drug addiction through writing books and various other side projects, such as Sixx:A.M.

In his recent tweet, Nikki Sixx drew attention to the benefits of being sober in every part of his life especially during his stage performances after a fan praised Sixx’s longtime sobriety. Sixx reflected his gratitude for his fan’s comment and stated that his focus has always been sharp since he decided to go sober.

Here’s what a fan wrote on Twitter:

“I just want to say I’m so happy that I got to see you perform live a bunch of times and you were sober every time, thank you.”

Sixx’s tweet read as follows:

I know sobriety gives razor-sharp focus. It’s our responsibility to our fans to give it all. I can’t wait and thank you.”
