Nikki Sixx Chooses The Best Mötley Crüe Song He’s Written Lyrically

Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx recently revealed the favorite song he has ever written for Mötley Crüe. His special pick was from Crüe’s fourth album ‘Girls Girls Girls.’

Aside from being a successful bassist, Sixx is also known for his writing skills which he has made public in many areas. He wrote most of Mötley Crüe’s and Sixx: A.M’s songs, as the primary songwriter. He also ventured into the literature world by releasing several autobiographical books.

His songwriting carried Mötley Crüe to the top back in the 1980s. While he had experimented with basic lyrics that talked about women and rock and roll party life, he also wrote about his personal emotional experiences. Hence, his recent favorite song choice indicated that Sixx is proud of his deep lyrics.

In 1987, Mötley Crüe released their iconic ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ album and changed the rock and roll scene. The album was criticized positively and is still regarded as one of their best albums ever. Hence, Sixx revealed that his favorite song was from this album called ‘Wild Side,’ which depicts interesting scenery.

‘Wild Side’ has a religious depiction of Christ, God, and praying. It mentions the clash between the ‘sinning’ in rock and roll and the idea of heaven and hell. Considered as a satanic band by many people in the 1980s, Mötley Crüe sparked these rumors even more with this song by clearly questioning God’s ‘existence.’

Here is what the fan asked:

“What do you think is the best song you have written lyrically?”

Here is how he revealed it:

‘Wild Side’ is pretty good.”

The song was rumored to have been written before Sixx and Tommy Lee started recruiting other band members. While the lyrics are the best Sixx has ever written, it seems like he had written it way before he grasped fame and fortune.
