Carrie Underwood is reportedly working on new rock music. TMZ reports that the country singer has been exploring a sound that differs from what she is best known for, with Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose said to be guiding her as she experiments with the genre.
TMZ reported that Underwood has been working on new music unlike her usual material and is being mentored by Rose as she explores rock.
Underwood recently joined Guns N’ Roses onstage during the band’s September 19 show at Truist Park in Atlanta. She performed Sweet Child O’ Mine and Paradise City with Rose and the group.
Underwood later thanked Rose, Duff McKagan, Slash, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Isaac Carpenter, and the crew in a social-media caption, calling it another amazing Guns N’ Roses show.
The appearance was not the first time Underwood has performed with the band. She opened for Guns N’ Roses on select 2023 dates and previously shared a stage with Rose at Stagecoach in 2022.
Reports have described Underwood’s new material as a rock project, but neither Underwood nor Rose has announced an album, release date, or track list. It remains unclear whether the material will become a full-length record or another type of release.
