Mudvayne guitarist Greg Tribbett will not participate in the band’s “L.D. 50 25th Anniversary” tour due to the loss of his wife, Debbie Tribbett. The band made this announcement on Instagram.

The band released an official statement addressing Tribbett’s absence from the tour.

“Tour starts today! We are going to miss our brother Greg on this tour, sending him and his family all the love,” the band stated. “- Chad, Matt, Ryan, and Mudvayne crew.”

Greg Tribbett’s wife Debbie had been battling angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, for more than a year before her passing. The guitarist’s absence from this significant anniversary tour reflects the band’s support for their longtime member during this difficult time.

The timing of Debbie’s passing adds particular weight to the band’s current tour. The tour celebrates a quarter-century since the release of their breakthrough debut album.

Blabbermouth reported that Debbie Tribbett lost her battle with cancer on September 5, 2025, just days before the tour’s launch. The angiosarcoma she fought is an aggressive form of cancer that affects the lining of blood vessels. This disease is known for its rapid spreading and difficulty to treat.

The “L.D. 50 25th Anniversary” tour kicked off in Dubuque, Iowa, shortly after her passing. The tour is scheduled to conclude on October 26 in Uncasville, Connecticut. The tour celebrates Mudvayne’s 2000 debut album that helped establish the band as a significant force in the nu-metal scene.

A GoFundMe campaign revealed that a fundraising effort was launched last year to support Debbie’s medical and personal expenses during her battle with cancer. The campaign demonstrated the strong support network surrounding the Tribbett family. The band and their community rallied to help ease the financial burden during her treatment.

The loss represents a deeply personal tragedy for Tribbett, who has been with Mudvayne since the band’s formation. Lambgoat confirmed that the remaining band members – vocalist Chad Gray, bassist Ryan Martinie, and drummer Matt McDonough – will continue the anniversary tour while honoring their bandmate’s need to grieve and be with his family during this difficult period.
