The cause of death of Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell has been revealed, according to Mirror. Campbell died in hospital on March 13. Coroner Dr Richard Brittain recorded his cause of death as multi-organ failure.
Brittain spoke to Mirror about whether the death could have been prevented. He described the circumstances that led to it.
“My view is that there is nothing here to suggest his death could have been prevented,” Brittain said. “He died from recognized complications of necessary surgical procedures.”
Campbell was Motörhead’s guitarist from 1984 until the band ended in 2015, and afterward formed Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons with his sons.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Philip Anthony Campbell, who passed away peacefully last night following a long and courageous battle in intensive care after a complex major operation,” the announcement read.
