Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda recently compared the band’s songs in a Q&A on Discord.

A fan on X shared a screenshot from the session, where Shinoda reflected on the band’s early tracks and shared his thoughts on them. “I hear your song requests. We are in the fortunate position of having too many songs to play,” he wrote.

He also shared, “New songs > old songs, right now at least.”

The rocker also clafiried the new songs weren’t made just for marketing. “Not marketing. Band loves the new stuff + it’s Emily’s voice.”

When a fan asked why LP hasn’t sung any songs from their album ‘One More Light,’ Shinoda added, “No reason, other than ‘we all like the songs we’re playing, and we’ll get around to other songs at some point.'”

While the new album ‘From Zero’ was named the album of the year in late 2024 and topped the UK charts four times, it lost the No. 1 spot to Linkin Park’s 22-year-old album ‘Meteora.’ Billboard reported that ‘Meteora’ climbed back to No. 1 from No. 5 on the Billboard chart. Forbes also noted that the album has remained on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart for 334 weeks since its 2003 release.

The band is currently playing some of their hit songs live, such as ‘Given Up,’ ‘Papercut,’ ‘Numb,’ ‘In The End’ and Faint.’ It’s only a matter of time before they play songs from ‘One More Light’ as well.
