Mike Shinoda Shares What He Will Do With $30,000 He Made From His First NFT Auction

Linkin Park rhythm guitarist Mike Shinoda shared a post on his official Twitter page announcing that the $30,000 he made from his first crypto media sale for his brand new track, ‘One Hundredth Stream’ is going to benefit art students who are in need of financial support.

As you may recall, Mike Shinoda recently shared a post on his official Twitter page detailly explaining how NFT works and how it can be used in order to especially benefit artists due to the fact that it directly allows you to distribute anything you really want.

Therefore, Mike Shinoda uploaded a brand new song named ‘One Hundredth Stream’ into an NFT and recently revealed that a buyer bid $1o.ooo for the NFT that contains the track. Shinoda also stressed the fact that he would never come close to that amount of money should he chose another way to release it.

Here is what Shinoda said:

“Even if I upload the full version of the contained song to DSPs worldwide (which I can still do), I would never get even close to $10k, after fees by DSPs, label, marketing, etc. And a reminder: the NFT isn’t the song—it’s an NFT containing the song. You can even rip the audio and video.”

Mike Shinoda shared a post on his official Twitter page announcing that the final price somebody offered for the track, ‘One Hundredth’ was $30.000, and the money he earned from his first crypto media sale is going to go to his ‘Michael K Shinoda Endowed Scholarship’ in order to help art students who need financial support.

Here is what Shinoda said:

$30k US will be going to the ‘Michael K Shinoda Endowed Scholarship’ at ArtCenter College of Design to benefit students based on artistic merit and financial need.”
