In a new interview with Guitar World, Mick Mars made it clear that reconciliation with his former Mötley Crüe bandmates is off the table, describing such a possibility as ‘impossible.’
The guitarist, in his conversation, expressed the deep-seated issues that have led to an irrevocable divide between him and the rest of Mötley Crüe, saying:
“I would say it’s past… Impossible. I don’t have a gag order, but it’s like anything you say can and will be used against you.”
Mars elaborated when asked for specifics regarding the lawsuit:
“I have to be pretty cautious about what I say because it could be relevant to what’s going on.”
Legal Battles And Allegations

This admission comes amid ongoing legal battles and public disputes that have soured relationships within the band. The discord traces back to 2022 when Mars announced his departure from touring, which was quickly followed by a lawsuit against his former bandmates. The musician accused them of conspiring to remove him not only from touring but as a significant stakeholder in the band’s business endeavors.
Furthermore, he made serious accusations against Nikki Sixx, including gaslighting and miming during performances. Mötley Crüe and their representatives said Mars choosing to retire was the same as him quitting the band. However, the legal wrangling took a turn in January 2024 when a judge ruled in favor of Mars, suggesting that the band had delayed submitting the requested documents.
Courtroom Victory For Mars

Ed McPherson, Mick Mars’ lawyer, lauded the January 16 ruling as a significant win for Mars, emphasizing that it marked an end to the band’s alleged bullying tactics, telling Rolling Stone:
“Finally, somebody, somewhere, told these guys they can’t bully Mick anymore. We’re in the middle of a huge arbitration that will ultimately decide if Mick has to give up his shares or not, if they did things properly or not. Obviously, we claim they didn’t do anything properly. But they feel that they’re above the rules. And that’s what this lawsuit was about.”
Despite the recent legal victory for Mars, the band’s attorney has declared the case concluded, pointing out that the court’s decision to dismiss further legal filings from Mars as moot means that the band has fulfilled its obligations by turning over all required documents.
