Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx Has Heartbreaking Wish For His Father Who Abandoned Him
Nikki Sixx shared a post on his official Twitter page for this year’s Father’s Day stating that every child deserves a father who’s there for them in addition to stating that his lifestyle didn’t prevent him from being a father to his five children while it wasn’t the case for his own father.
For those of you who might not know about the upbringing of Nikki Sixx, he actually had a traumatic childhood when his biological father left his family and he was raised by his single mother, Deana Richards, and by his grandparents. As if being abandoned by his own father wasn’t enough, Sixx’s mother also left him, thus, he moved in with his grandparents and changes location several times while living with them as well.
During an interview with SiriusXM back in 2019, Mötley Crüe’s bassist opened up about his tragic childhood to which he referred to as ‘shitty’ as well as revealing that he has been dealing with the trauma he’s left with from an early age. In addition to this, Sixx stated that he let go of his feeling for his father, however, he still feels disappointed about his mother’s actions and trying to overcome those feelings still to this day.
According to SiriusXM, Mötley Crüe icon revealed these:
“I had a shitty upbringing, and I’m dealing with that every day. I spent more money on therapy than most rock stars spent on cars. I really wanted to change and I really wanted to evolve and be a better man. And part of that is being there for my kids. And that’s really a big deal.
I’m trying to get over my anger that’s turned more into disappointment and regret about my mom. I let my dad go. But just now that I’m working on this book and I’m talking to my aunt and I find out things like I was never held for the first three weeks of my life, I almost started crying. And someone’s, like, ‘Wow, rock stars cry?’ I mean, yeah, man, it hurts to hear that kind of stuff. So, I’m not angry. I’m just dealing with it. And chances are a whole bunch of songs are gonna come out about it.”
Recently, Nikki Sixx shared a post on his official Twitter page a day prior to Father’s Day stating that tomorrow should be dedicated to fathers who actually show up and be there for their children since every single one of them deserves it which is a statement to celebrate since it’s accurate with every single word of it.
Nikki Sixx tweeted this statement:
“Tomorrow is a great day to celebrate the fathers that show up. Be a man, not an asshole. Your children deserve it.”
After seeing his post, a fan shared a tweet explaining her own situation by revealing that she’s a single parent who celebrates both Mother’s and Father’s days as well as stating that she loved being a parent to her daughters. Feeling happy after seeing a single parent who’s passionate about taking care of her children, Mötley Crüe bassist shared another post on his Twitter stating that he also never let his lifestyle get in the way of him and his children which is something he wishes he could’ve said about his own father as well.
The fan shared this on Twitter after Sixx’s post:
“We are a family by single parent adoption, so I enjoy both mother’s and father’s days. Being a parent to my wonderful girl is the greatest joy of my life.”
Nikki Sixx responded with this tweet:
“That’s fantastic. All the bells and whistles, all the rock n roll, and all the fame don’t come close for me to be a hands-on parent. Wish my dad felt the same.”
