Mick Jagger recently got candid about his late bandmate Charlie Watts’ passing while sitting down with The Guardian and shared the one thing .

The rocker and Keith Richards have been promoting the Rolling Stones’ latest album, ‘Hackney Diamonds,’ and while discussing the record, the topic drifted to Watts, who had played on two tracks before his passing.

Mick Jagger Opens Up About Charlie Watts

Jagger, who’s known to be private about his personal feelings, decided to speak up about how much he misses the late drummer and gave a rare insight into his feelings on Charlie’s passing. He said:

“It’s a couple of years now, and I still think about Charlie a lot… I miss his laconic humor. His taste in music. His elegance. His don’t-care attitude – he didn’t get intense. Keith and I get a bit intense. But Charlie wouldn’t, and it rubs off a bit – I’m not as intense as I used to be…”

Mick Jagger On Keeping Charlie Watts Alive

Since the Rolling Stones have been promoting their first album of original material in 18 years and getting ready to hit the road without Watts once again, Mick admitted that Charlie has constantly been in his mind.

He admitted:

“I think about him when I’m playing, and what he would have played, whether he’d have liked this song because I’d always bounce things off him.”
