In a recent post on Facebook, Michael Sweet of Stryper addresses Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘hell’ statement with a message of choosing wisely.
Recently, in a Metal Hammer interview promoting the new season of the Osbournes Podcast, Ozzy said that the podcast has greatly helped him recover and added:
“You know what, it’s been pretty grim around the Osbourne house for the past few years. I’ve got no fear of going to hell – I’ve been going there and back for the past five years. But when you’re sick, all you can think about is you, so when they said about doing the podcast again, it was like, ‘Sure, it’ll get me out of myself again!'”
Sweet’s Perspective On Osbourne’s Remarks

Sweet responded to his words, writing:
“Why in the world would anyone want to go to hell? Maybe it’s a figure of speech. Ozzy — if you acknowledge that there’s a hell, you must believe that there’s a heaven as well. Make the right choice, man. Eternity is infinity and beyond. Forever. Choose heaven.”
In the same interview, Ozzy also said the following about his podcast, featuring him, his wife Sharon, his son Jack, and daughter Kelly:
“It’s just us! We have a real laugh with it you know, but it seems a lot of people are listening and liking it. It’s good because family always comes first for me.”
Health Struggles And Touring Cancellations

As publicly known, the vocalist has been dealing with serious health issues for the past few years. In 2022, Osbourne had surgery at a Los Angeles hospital to take out two metal plates from his spine, which were placed there after a bathroom fall in January 2019.
Earlier this year, he declared that he would stop touring. In July, due to his continuing health issues, he had to cancel his performance at the Power Trip festival. These health issues also caused the cancellation of multiple tours he had planned, such as the ‘No More Tours 2 Tour’ and his concerts with Judas Priest in the UK and Ireland. He discussed his plans to return to performing last month in his podcast, saying:
“I went to the doctor last Monday, and they said I’m blood clot-free. So I’ve got to do this with one of my arteries next Monday, and after that, it’s just back to physical therapy.”
In September, Ozzy also announced that he was creating a new album set for release in 2024. It will mark his fourteenth studio record following last year’s ‘Patient Number 9.’
