Maynard James Keenan Says ‘No Excuses’ While Making A Confession To Pop-Rock Star Liz Phair

Maynard James Keenan, the founder and only permanent member of Puscifer, recently responded to Liz Phair‘s tweet on Twitter and revealed that he did something he shouldn’t have and that he’s decided to confess it without searching for excuses.

As you know, Maynard James Keenan is one of the most multi-tasking and active rockstar of all time and he often makes it to the headlines of rock news with his new and extraordinary projects. He’s best known as the founder of the rock supergroup Puscifer and he’s collaborated with over 10 musicians within the band but he’s the only permanent member.

Being a famous rockstar still active in the rock scene means that Maynard has had the chance to meet numerous musicians and develop good friendships with many of them. One of these people is Liz Phair, who’s one of the most famous female vocalists in rock history, as in 1994 she received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance with her second studio album Whip-Smart.

Maynard seems to enjoy being friends with Liz Phair with whom he also shares the same birth date, April 17. However, it seems like he was so preoccupied with his birthday this year, that he forgot to celebrate his friend’s. Phair recently posted a video of a hummingbird outside her window and Maynard decided to comment under it and sincerely apologize for forgetting her birthday. He said that he owns up to his mistake and that he just wanted to confess this with ‘no excuses.’

Here’s what Liz Phair wrote in the caption of her hummingbird video:

“Do I tell him he has TP stuck to his shoe, or no?”

To which Maynard James Keenan responded by saying:

“Non-Sequitur – Totally spaced on wishing you a mutually glorious BDay. No excuses. Hummingbirds rule.”
