Maynard James Keenan Finally Accomplishes Lifetime Dream

Tool frontman MJ Keenan is finally turning his dreams into reality. Collaborating with the team behind Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards, they are set to launch a new ‘ventura room‘ located in the Verde Valley within historic Old Town Cottonwood. MJ mentioned that he has been working on this project for twenty years and emphasized a crucial aspect when it comes to wine in Arizona:

“In the many years I’ve been working towards this moment, one of the things I discovered when it comes to bridging the hurdle of exposing people to Arizona wine is context.”

He further explained that the vision he has conveyed through this facility will challenge any preconceived notions people might have about the Arizona wines:

“By putting a place like this in the middle of Cottonwood with five acres of vines, to winery facilities with a full greenhouse and a full kitchen, all the context becomes visible, and you kind of break down the barriers of whatever preconceptions you have of Arizona wines.”

On Caduceus Cellars’ website, regarding Keenan’s past and current association with wine, it’s written:

“He is the owner, winemaker, and founder of the Arizona based wine makers Co-Op – Four Eight Wineworks, and a founding board member of the Arizona Vignerons Alliance, a quality control and winegrowers data collection collective. He has been a participating member of the Arizona Winegrowers Association since 2009.”

MJ Keenan’s Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards Hilltop Facility will be open for business on October 6. Below, you can watch the promo video. Also, you can get further information here.
