Bullet For My Valentine’s lead vocalist Matt Tuck promised an unforgettable metal experience in the upcoming tour with Trivium, as revealed in a recent interview with Kerrang!
Sitting in the Sanctum Hotel in London, Tuck, alongside Trivium’s Matt Heafy, announced what they believe to be the metal event of the year: The Poisoned Ascendancy Tour. This long-anticipated tour, 20 years in the making, will feature the bands performing their landmark albums, ‘The Poison’ and ‘Ascendancy,’ respectively, starting in the UK next January.
Unique Setlist Challenges

One of the unique aspects of the tour will be the order of the songs, as the singer shared:
“The weird thing is we’re going to play it in order, and ‘Tears Don’t Fall’ is fourth on the record. It’s going to be really weird not closing with it or having it as the encore or something like that. After 20 minutes, it’s done.”
Planning The Perfect Show Length

Reflecting on their aim for a total show length, he continued:
“We still have to work out the realities of what the set’s going to entail length-wise because we don’t want to be on that stage so long it affects changeovers and travel times for crowds. I think 75 minutes seems like the right amount of time, both albums come in around 55 minutes, then you get to have 20 minutes of whatever you want. From a crowd perspective, that’s probably enough as well. You’re just getting your ears and head assaulted by heavy metal for three f*cking hours!”
The concept of the upcoming tour emerged from the desire to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Poison. Tuck highlighted the natural partnership with Trivium, given their shared history and the significance of ‘Ascendancy’ in the metal scene.
The Poisoned Ascendancy 2025 UK arena tour is set to kick off at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff on January 26, 2025, with stops in major cities, including Glasgow, Manchester, and Birmingham, before concluding at The O2 in London on February 1, 2025. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, March 1, at 10 am local time.
