Marilyn Manson’s partner, Lindsay Elizabeth Warner, revealed the details of the lawsuit for defamation against Evan Rachel Wood on Instagram.
Lindsay shared a document of 28 pages showing the legal complaint filed by the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, detailing a lawsuit brought by Manson against Wood and Illma Gore on March 2, 2022. It accuses them of orchestrating a conspiracy to falsely portray the singer as a rapist and abuser, which has significantly damaged his music, TV, and film career.
The Charges Against Manson

The document outlines several causes of action, including intentional infliction of emotional distress, defamation per se, violation of the Comprehensive Computer Data and Access Fraud Act, and impersonation over the Internet.
It details the alleged actions of Wood and Gore, claiming they coordinated and pressured others to make false accusations against the rocker, impersonated an FBI agent to lend credibility to their claims, hacked Manson’s computers and social media, and engaged in other activities to defame and emotionally distress him.
It also asserts that their actions were malicious and intentional, aiming to harm Marilyn’s reputation and career while elevating Wood’s standing as an advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The complaint seeks general, special, and punitive damages against Wood and Gore and an injunction to prevent future wrongful conduct.
Evan Rachel Wood’s Initial Public Accusations

Evan started accusing Manson in 2021 when she posted on Instagram saying she was no longer scared and wanted to reveal the truth about him. She aimed to stop him from hurting more people and support other victims who are speaking out.
In October, Wood talked with Dr. Ramani on the Navigating Narcissism podcast. She discussed her past engagement with Manson and the abuse she says she faced. Evan also talked about feeling ‘brainwashed’ during their time together. She remembered:
“It was this non-stop onslaught of words and monologues, this constant stream of negativity that I felt like I couldn’t escape and couldn’t stop; it’s where the brainwashing and abuse started taking place. He wouldn’t stop until you gave in or started agreeing with everything he was saying or making the phone calls he wanted you to make.”
Ashley Walters, another woman who accused Manson of sexual assault and battery, recently won an important appeal. Her lawsuit, which was dismissed in May 2022, is now allowed to return to court. The appellate court disagreed with the earlier decision and said her claims were strong enough to proceed.
