Marilyn Manson appears to be reuniting with former bandmate Tim Skold following the recent departure of lead guitarist Tyler Bates. This development comes according to a post shared on Instagram.
The announcement came through a social media post featuring Manson alongside Skold. This suggests the former collaborator’s return to the band after Bates’s exit one month ago.
“We are the things of shapes to come,” Marilyn Manson said. “Marilyn Manson + Tim Skold.”
The cryptic message appears to confirm Skold’s return to the band. This marks a reunion with the musician who previously worked with Manson during earlier periods of the group’s history.
This reunion brings together two musicians with a significant shared history in the industrial metal scene. Skold’s return represents a notable shift in the band’s lineup following recent changes.
Tim Skold previously served multiple roles within Marilyn Manson’s band during two separate periods. NamuWiki reported that Skold initially joined as bassist and synthesizer player from 2002-2003. He later returned to take on guitar duties from 2007 until his departure in 2008.
During his earlier tenure with the band, Skold made significant contributions to Marilyn Manson’s commercial success. NamuWiki noted that Skold produced the band’s 2003 album The Golden Age of Grotesque. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 after he took over following Twiggy Ramirez’s departure.
The departure of Tyler Bates marks the end of a long-standing collaboration with Marilyn Manson. Chaoszine revealed that Bates, an accomplished composer for film and other media, had collaborated with Manson for over ten years before his recent exit from the band.
Skold’s return to Marilyn Manson comes as the musician continues to maintain his presence in the industrial metal scene. He has previously worked with bands like KMFDM alongside his Marilyn Manson collaborations.
