Machine Gun Kelly Shares The One Thing Preventing Him From Quitting Music

Rapper/rocker Machine Gun Kelly recently tweeted a photo of himself, and in the caption, he wrote that he would abandon his music career had it not been for this one thing:

“Without my fans and fan pages, I think my anxiety about the world’s judgment would lead me to become a hermit and eventually leave this industry. I know you don’t get paid for what you do, but I try to pay you back by providing entertainment and music that feeds the soul.”

MGK also expressed his appreciation because fans’ support remains unwavering:

“Every time people try to twist my narrative, you correct it. You see the truth behind the controversies and the purity beyond a flawed exterior. You’re all right with me.”

Machine Gun Kelly has been a controversial figure, from his fashion choices to his music style, his feuds with other musicians, and his choices within relationships. In 2017, he faced backlash for making comments about then-underage Kendall Jenner. He said:

“I don’t care who my first celebrity crush was because right now it’s Kendall Jenner. God damn, I’ve said that so many times; I hope that I’m snagging that. Don’t let me move to LA. Oof, I’m finding her. I’m not waiting until she’s 18; I’ll go now. I’m 23, dog; I’m not like a creepy age, you know what I’m saying? And she’s like a celebrity, there are no limits right there.”

In 2020, he released his fifth overall and first pop-punk album ‘Tickets to My Downfall.’ In a 2022 interview, he addressed the backlash he received for trying out a new genre:

“I was rapping. And then, later on, we dropped a No. 1 album that was a pop-punk album. So when they say ‘departed’ or when they say, ‘Oh, man, you switched.’ Motherf*cker, are you dumb?! I stopped doing interviews because I’m so sick of being asked questions that don’t make me think or feel. I’ve just sat there and heard this, ‘Oh, he departed, he switched, oh, he’ — Do you know how long? Do you know how much that kills me every day?”

Machine Gun Kelly’s latest single ‘Pressure’ came out in May. You can watch the official video below.
