Halestorm singer Lzzy Hale named one of her songs that was inspired by a threesome she had.
During a new interview with Metal Hammer, the rocker picked the 15 Halestorm songs she thinks are the greatest, and apparently, one of them is based on a threesome. Discussing ‘Do Not Disturb’ from the 2018 album, ‘Vicious,’ the rocker shared how she was inspired to write such a song:
“I was writing this song shortly after we moved to Nashville. I was on a synth-dance kick. It was a retro sound, just throwing out the formula I usually have for Halestorm. It was just for me, but stupid Lzzy decides to send it to the guys anyway… And we’re in the middle of making ‘Vicious,’ and Josh [Smith, bassist] brings up ‘Do Not Disturb’ and I’m like, ‘NO! It is a song that I wrote about a threesome that I had in Holland! And it’s a synth track!'”
She then discussed how it made some people uncomfortable speaking about the song:
“But one of the biggest joys on that album cycle was these poor journalists that didn’t really want to talk about it, their ears would get red and hot… It was adorable! It made everybody a little uncomfortable, and I love that – that’s kind of what rock’n’roll is about.”
Hale Didn’t Want Anybody To Hear ‘Do Not Disturb’

This was not the first time the Halestorm rocker discussed the same song. The track, which came out in 2018, was one of Hale’s songs that was, in her words, ‘dumb.’ During an earlier interview, when the interviewer asked Hale about bringing a song idea to the guys that she’s fired up about, what they got was an ‘unexpected response’:
“I write a lot of dumb sh*t that I don’t think is good. There will ultimately be a fight, like ‘Well, just show us,’ you know? And there’ll always be one of those dumb songs where the guys are like ‘No, we have to do this song.’ I had written that for myself in a kind of club, dance way… It’s very much something funny for me. It’s like, I don’t know, I had a threesome, nobody’s going to want to hear about that. Also, it’s weird and not relatable to everybody.”
