Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale recently expressed her admiration for Slipknot and their vocalist Corey Taylor in an interview with American Musical Supply.
When asked if she had ever attended a show and wished she had written a particular song, Hale immediately pointed to Corey Taylor’s work.
“Oh, yes. Usually it’s Corey Taylor,” Hale said. “I’ve always been a fan of Slipknot and Corey and Stone Sour and that whole camp.”
The vocalist went on to describe her recent experience watching Slipknot perform at a festival.
“But the last time I saw Slipknot was a couple months ago at some festival and they were headlining,” she continued. “I felt like I was tripping balls. Like I was taken to a place. It was like metal jazz. It was life affirming and life-saving at the same time.”
Hale concluded her praise by highlighting Taylor’s songwriting abilities and fearless approach to music.
“So I’m always with Slipknot musically and lyrically,” she said. “I mean Corey’s a genius and he’s not afraid to go there. He’s not afraid to tell the brutal truth.”
