Liam Gallagher’s blue plaque at Manchester Lidl has gone missing and a £500 reward is offered for its return.
The plaque was put up after Gallagher joked that he would perform in a Lidl if the new Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester wasn’t ready in time for his ‘Definitely Maybe’ anniversary tour in June.
This came after several technical issues and event cancellations when the venue opened earlier this year. Concerts by artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Keane, Peter Kay, and The Black Keys were postponed. When a fan asked on X what he would do if the issues weren’t fixed, Liam replied, “Gig in LIDL.”
After the shows went ahead as planned, a plaque was placed at Lidl’s Newton Heath store in Manchester to remember the gig Gallagher ‘almost’ played there. Now, it seems the plaque has been stolen. Lidl is asking for it to be returned ‘in time for Christmas’ and is offering a £500 in-store reward for its safe return.
In October, Gallagher was teased by fans for looking like he works at Lidl after wearing a £400 red, yellow, and blue jacket in a photoshoot with Berghaus. The singer was part of a shoot to celebrate ‘iconic reunions in 2024’ ahead of his tour with his brother Noel next year. Liam had owned a jacket from the brand in the 1990s before Oasis became famous.
Fans noticed the jacket’s colors looked a lot like the Lidl logo. Lidl’s social media team joined in, saying Liam made ‘sound choices’ with the colors. Irish Lidl also posted a couple of confused emojis.
Liam recently responded angrily on X after being asked if Oasis could match their past shows on the reunion tour next year. He called the question ‘ridiculous.’ The rocker explained, “Listen here you C*nt even on our bad day we’ll still wipe the floor with majority of bands out there.”
Oasis announced dates for their 2025 reunion tour in South Korea and Japan. They’ll also play in the UK, Ireland, North America, and Wembley Stadium in London. Later, they’ll perform in Australia and South America.
