Kourtney Kardashian’s former nanny, Leah Barrs, has addressed the swirling speculation about a rumored hookup with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. She spoke candidly in an appearance on Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey.
Barrs clarified the origins of the rumor. She explained how an offhand comment made during a night out was taken out of context and ultimately spiraled into a much larger story.
“No. This is when I first moved to Los Angeles. I was 22. So that is why it’s so crazy, [since] I am now 31,” Barrs said. “So I’m drinking, we go out and then one of the girls live. She’s like, ‘Have you ever hooked up with a dad?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I f*cked a dad.’ And then, not even giving her context, she goes and tells the other nannies, who then tell one of the nannies tells a family. So, then this secret comes out that I f*cked this dad. I’m a — I’m a like a, you know, home wrecker, blah blah blah. But the real story is this guy is my friend.”
Barrs went on to describe the actual circumstances of the encounter. She pushed back against the more sensationalized version of events that had circulated.
“And I did him a favor one night and he came back from his event. The daughter was asleep. Technically, I’m clocked out. He is my friend. I’ve always thought he was hot. We hook up,” she continued. “And so it’s just something that was so insignificant like so long ago that just got blown out of proportion. I got fired on TV which was crazy.”
Barrs’ comments shed light on how the rumor took on a life of its own, ultimately costing her the job — an outcome she described as surreal.
The story first gained wider attention through Barrs’ appearance on the Hulu reality series Million Dollar Nannies. The incident was aired publicly for the first time on the show, setting off a chain of events that led to her dismissal.
Barrs was fired by the Guiribitey family — known on the show as “The Gs” — after the disclosure became public. The family had reportedly learned of the hookup through nanny cams, which helped push the story into the open and made the fallout difficult to contain.
Barrs has been consistent in clarifying that the man involved was not Travis Barker. She described him as a single father who was already a close friend and emphasized that the encounter was a one-time event that carried no ongoing significance. “He’s happily married. Pack it up,” she said. “But I’m not that person today.”
Despite the professional setback, Barrs has moved forward. She has since landed a new nannying position with a high-profile family and has spoken openly about her experience on multiple podcast appearances. Plans for a second season of Million Dollar Nannies are also reportedly in development, though Barrs has hinted that not all of the original cast members may return.
