Korn Members Honor The Memory Of A Dying Fan Who Inspired The Song ‘Justin’

The official Twitter page of Korn shared a post revealing the story behind their track ‘Justin‘ and apparently, it was inspired by and named after a fan of theirs with whom they met during the band’s Make-A-Wish foundation visit, unfortunately, Justin passed away a few months after, however, Korn is determined to keep his memory alive with the track.

As some of you might know, ‘Justin‘ is the tenth track on Korn’s third studio album, ‘Follow the Leader‘ which was released on August 18, 1998. The album was a total success as it peaked at number one on four charts, including the Billboard 200 with 268,000 units sold in its first week of release.

While the album features 25 tracks, there’s one song that holds a special place for the band since the concept of the song ‘Justin’ was about a fan with the same name dying of intestinal cancer with whom the band members met through his last wish which was to meet the members of Korn.

Recently, Korn shared a post on its official Twitter page revealing a picture from the time they first met their special fan Justin thanks to the Make-A-Wish foundation while sharing with their fans how the track was dedicated to Justin as well as being written in front of its muse.

The band also revealed that, unfortunately, Justin passed away a few months after he met Korn members, however, the band is determined and happy to carry his memory every single time when they perform ‘Justin’ with their fans.

Here is what Korn said:

“We loved playing the song ‘Justin’ for Korn Monumental. Justin, pictured here next to Brian Welch & James Shaffer, was our first Make-A-Wish foundation visit. We were writing Follow The Leader in Gardena, CA when we met him. He came to our rehearsal & spent the day with us. He was so excited to meet us & couldn’t believe he was watching us write a song – which ended up being the song ‘Justin’ named after him. He passed away, unfortunately, a few months after this photo was taken. We’re happy to keep Justin’s memory alive with our song.”
