Kid Rock was a special guest at Bon Jovi’s David Bryan’s birthday party in Nashville on February 8, but his performance went wrong when the crowd didn’t clap for him.
According to Loudwire, Rock performed ‘Proud Mary’ with a band that included Bryan on keyboards. At first, everything went well, and the band sounded good, according to fan videos shared on TikTok. But things changed when Rock asked the crowd to clap along.
Some fans in the front clapped, but many others were dancing, filming, or talking instead. The singer stopped the band at one point, saying, “F*ck them. F*ck them. Hey, hey, stop. If you ain’t gonna clap, we [ain’t] gonna sing. That’s how it’s gonna go.”
He exaggeratedly showed the audience what he meant. He clapped along to the song while explaining, “Don’t get too fast.” For a minute, the performance continued, but fans still weren’t clapping enough.
Rock stopped again, turned, and left the stage. He said, “You know what, f*ck y’all. You ain’t gonna clap, I’m gone.” The band looked confused.
The Sun shared a video of the moment and said Rock didn’t return to the stage, but the band continued playing.

Kid Rock also recently made news for flirting with a BBC reporter named Caitriona Perry during an interview. He asked her about her plans and joked about not being able to see her due to the audio call. Perry mentioned the cold weather and wearing ski gear for the broadcast.
Then, the singer said, “I love to go skiing. You sound sexy, you want to go with me?” Perry hesitated before replying, “Well, we won’t get into that right here, so. We’re doing no skiing today, we’ve got a day of broadcasting to do. But Kid Rock, thank you so much for joining us here on BBC News, enjoy your day.”
Rock will be back on the road this spring for his Rock the Country festival. He’ll headline with Nickelback, Hank Williams Jr., and Lynyrd Skynyrd, plus other acts like Travis Tritt and Tracy Lawrence. The festival will visit 10 small towns over 10 weekends across the U.S.
