The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins recently released a new episode of his YouTube series. He poured his thoughts into the video about the song ‘Wicked Game‘, covered by Jack Black’s band Tenacious D, and originally sung by Chris Isaak. He said:

“To hear it acoustically and sung, I don’t know, in a really sincere way, and then add that video to a- it’s a masterpiece, it really is. This is f*cking awesome and it should be, there should be a long version of it.”

The singer liked the song so much, he even titled the video ‘This Is The Greatest Thing I’ve Ever Seen‘. He went on:

“Wow, okay. So I’m really glad this has happened. Somebody has covered Wicked Game and done it justice. It might not be the definitive version, I still think that’s Chris Isaak’s, but this is f*cking amazing and I think they should do the long form version with all of the absent verses and the core eye.”

This is the singer’s second video about Jack Black. In the earlier video, he talked about the band’s song ‘Tribute and what makes it ‘annoying’. You can find more details here.

For those interested in the Tenacious D cover of the song, it is available on YouTube, which you can see here. The band recorded the song themselves and published it on June 1 on music platforms as well.
