Journey’s Jonathan Cain recently announced that the band will be taking a break from touring following their Las Vegas shows. He shared the news with fans on Instagram.
The keyboardist’s statement addressed the band’s upcoming schedule and expressed gratitude to their supporters.
“After Journey rocked Las Vegas last week we will take a well deserved break and start our next leg in Tampa May 15th at Amalie Arena,” Cain said. “Thanks to all our fans for coming out and celebrating our music with us.”
The break comes as part of Journey’s Final Frontier tour. The band is set to resume performances in Tampa on May 15th.
The Las Vegas performance that Cain referenced took place on April 29, 2026. It marked a significant milestone in the band’s current touring cycle before their scheduled hiatus.
Setlist.fm reported that the Las Vegas show at The Sandbar, Red Rock Hotel and Casino featured classic Journey hits including “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart),” and “Any Way You Want It.” The performance also showcased individual band member contributions, with Cain taking lead vocals on “Anytime” and Jason Derlatka performing “Suzanne.”
The Final Frontier Tour represents an extensive touring commitment for the rock legends. Ticketmaster noted that it began on February 28, 2026, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and is scheduled to conclude on July 2, 2026, in Laredo, Texas. This ambitious four-month tour spans multiple states and venues across the country.
When Journey resumes their tour activities, the Tampa show at Benchmark International Arena will kick off the next leg of performances. Concerts50 confirmed that the May 15th Tampa performance is scheduled for 7:30 PM and is billed as “An Evening With Journey – Final Frontier Tour.” The band will continue with additional dates, including a May 16th show in Jacksonville at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.
The well-deserved break Cain mentioned comes after months of intensive touring. This allows the band members to recharge before completing the remaining dates of their Final Frontier tour through the summer months.
