Jon Bon Jovi recently opened up about his son Jake Bongiovi’s marriage to actress Millie Bobby Brown and their new addition to the family. He shared his thoughts in an interview with Bunnie XO.
The rock legend expressed his excitement about becoming a grandfather and his support for the young couple’s relationship.
“It’s crazy, but great. Wonderful. They adopted a girl, we met the baby obviously and immediately that becomes your grandchild, you know what I mean? Your baby. It’s beautiful,” Bon Jovi said. “I want to see pictures, like, every other day. I’m that pain in the butt guy already and, yeah, it’s cool.”
The musician also addressed the couple’s decision to marry at a young age. He explained his family’s support for their relationship.
“They got married very young but we blessed it because we get it — you know, they’re sorta mature beyond their years,” he continued. “She comes from a family where her parents are still together and they married very young. Her and Jake fell in love and we just thought OK, we’ll support this and it’s working out.”
Fans have closely followed the couple’s journey to marriage since they first connected through social media and made their relationship public.
Harper’s Bazaar reported that Jake and Millie first met on Instagram in 2021 before their relationship blossomed into something more serious. The couple made their red carpet debut at the 2022 BAFTA Film Awards, marking their first official public appearance together as a couple.
Their relationship progressed quickly. The Knot noted that Millie even subtly confirmed their marriage status by wearing denim shorts with “Wifey” written on them during a public outing in June 2024. The couple publicly confirmed their marriage by mid-2024, surprising many fans with the speed of their commitment.
The adoption announcement came later in 2025. Brown and Bongiovi shared their excitement about embracing parenthood. Harper’s Bazaar revealed that the couple announced the adoption of their baby girl in August 2025, sharing on Instagram their excitement to embrace parenthood “in both peace and privacy.”
The comments mark one of Bon Jovi’s first public statements about his son’s high-profile marriage to the “Stranger Things” star. Wikipedia indicates that Brown is well known not only for her roles in the Netflix hit series but also for her status as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and being named one of Time’s 100 most influential people.
