John Corabi recently addressed a hypothetical scenario about joining Guns N’ Roses as a replacement for Axl Rose. He shared his thoughts in an interview with Dr. Music.
The former Mötley Crüe vocalist was asked about his willingness to step into a major arena band role again. When presented with a question about potentially filling in for Axl Rose on a Guns N’ Roses tour, Corabi gave a clear response about his current priorities and career direction.
“No. You know, to be honest with you, like I don’t really want to do that again,” Corabi said. “And to be quite honest with you, like I kind of already have that, you know, with the Dead Daisies, right?”
The singer explained that he already has access to large-scale performances through his work with The Dead Daisies. He cited several major festival appearances.
“I can tell you right now, like it was with the Dead Daisies, that I did the Download Festival and the Swedish Rock Festival and I did a festival in Poland for a while,” he continued. “It was called the Woodstock Festival in Poland. It’s the largest free festival in the world. And we did it with a 63piece orchestra and I think the night we played it was for I don’t know two or 300,000 people. So I have that outlet. Do you know what I mean?”
Corabi emphasized his current focus on exploring different musical directions. He maintains his connection to larger-scale rock performances when desired.
“So, you know, it’s kind of right now I’m living, you know, the music that I did on this record isn’t necessarily anything the Daisies would do,” he explained. “But you know, when I want to really turn up the volume and really kick people in the teeth, I can just go right back to doing that again and then just go play a bunch of festivals and stuff.”
Corabi’s comments come at a particularly busy time in his career. He prepares for multiple major projects and tour commitments in 2026.
Blabbermouth reported that Corabi will release his debut full-length solo album “New Day” on April 24, 2026 via Frontiers Music Srl. This marks a significant milestone for the veteran rocker. It represents his first complete solo effort of original material after decades in various bands.
The album was recorded in Nashville during the summer of 2025. Screamer Magazine noted that Marti Frederiksen produced it. The collaboration with Frederiksen, known for his work with major rock acts, signals Corabi’s commitment to creating a polished, professional solo debut.
To support the new record, Arrow Lords of Metal revealed that Corabi has planned a European tour for February and March 2026. This touring schedule demonstrates his continued dedication to live performance. He explores new creative directions outside of his established band commitments.
The timing of Corabi’s solo venture and his dismissal of potential high-profile opportunities like Guns N’ Roses reflects an artist who has found his creative balance. His ability to maintain both intimate solo work and large-scale festival performances with The Dead Daisies provides him the artistic flexibility he clearly values at this stage of his career.
