John Corabi On Tommy Lee’s Portrayal In ‘Pam And Tommy,’ ‘It’s Unwatchable’
During a new interview, Mötley Crüe’s brief vocalist John Corabi recently spoke about his ex-bandmate Tommy Lee‘s portrayal in the ‘Pam & Tommy’ series. He stated the elements that the series got wrong according to his experience with Lee himself.
Mötley Crüe has its most known line-up consisting of Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars, and Vince Neil. They had a dramatic period in their career where Vince Neil and the rest of the band didn’t get along. Eventually, Neil parted ways with the band, and many rumored that the band fired him due to their differences in 1992.
After Neil’s departure, the band initially decided to move on and even replaced him with John Corabi. However, the fans didn’t show as much attention as before with this new line-up. Their demands included reuniting with Neil, and their record label forced the band to rehire the singer to reignite their career. Hence after a five-year venture with Mötley Crüe, John Corabi left the band.
Recently he talked about his ex-bandmate Tommy Lee’s most up-to-date depiction of his marriage and leaked sex tape with Pamela Anderson. The TV series was released in 2022, starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan as Pam and Tommy. The ex-Mötley Crüe singer watched and stated his opinions on the accuracy.
He stated that he had known Tommy for five years and never saw him walking around in underwear. He didn’t like the inaccurate depiction of Tommy’s style. He also commented upon other elements, such as when they bought themselves a house. These mistakes were ridiculous for him and made the series unwatchable.
Corabi’s comments on ‘Pam & Tommy’ follow:
“I can tell you that I was in the band for almost five years. When we toured, Tommy and I traveled together. It was just Tommy and me on a bus and a security guard. It was random, and unless we were changing in the dressing room, I never saw Tommy in his underwear.
I never saw him in speedos or whatever that underwear is in the TV thing. He was constantly in a speedo. I’m like, ‘No, this is wrong.’ Just the whole story, how they bought the house and just the construction on the house, there were so many things wrong with that it was ridiculous. To me, it was unwatchable.”
