John Corabi Explains How He Accepted Vince Neil’s Return To Mötley Crüe
Former Mötley Crüe frontman John Corabi recently gave an interview to 80’s Glam Metalcast and revealed his reaction when he learned Vince Neil would be back to Crüe.
John Corabi joined Mötley Crüe as Vince Neil’s replacement in February 1992 when Crüe parted ways with the singer. Although Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee trusted Corabi’s vocal talent, their musical efforts with him didn’t sell as much as the previous releases. Following that, the band entered a commercially unsuccessful period and their label refused to provide funds unless Vince Neil returned to the band.
In 1997, Corabi left the band and Vince Neil returned. At the time, Crüe was working on a new album which would later become their ‘Generation Swine.’ After Vince Neil’s return, songs from the early writing sessions appeared on the album with Corabi credited on the liner notes for his co-writing of some of the songs. Years later, in 2008, Corabi attended the Mötley Cruise and joined Vince Neil on stage to perform AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell.’ This performance marked a unique moment as two Crüe vocalists shared the same stage together.
In an interview by 80’s Glam Metalcast, John Corabi talked about his tenure in Mötley Crüe. He recalled the time Vince Neil was back in the band and said that he accepted everything at that moment. The musician said that he continued making music as a solo musician and a member of The Dead Daisies. Corabi then said he is still making new musical efforts, and he does not even think about that incident anymore.
John Corabi told 80’s Glam Metalcast that:
“The minute they told me they were bringing Vince back, I walked away from it, and I kind of accepted everything. It’s not me who keeps bringing it up. I’m still writing new music. I’ve done — in the last 10 years, between my solo records and the records I did with The Dead Daisies and the new music that I’m doing, I think I’ve done five or six records. So I’m past it, I’m over it, I don’t even think about it.”
