The Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh shared a health update addressing his recent struggles, expressing gratitude for fan support during the band’s ongoing Las Vegas residency in a statement posted on Instagram.

Walsh’s statement focused on acknowledging both his health challenges and the overwhelming support he has received from fans and medical staff.

“I wanted to thank my fan who came in from Tokyo and brought me green tea last night (and left no way for me to thank them!),” Walsh said. “I’ve been dealing with some health issues these last few months and will get through this stronger than ever.”

The guitarist continued to express his appreciation for the patience and care he has received during this difficult period.

“But I’m grateful for everyone being so patient with me, grateful for the care I’ve received here in Las Vegas and grateful for the fans who continue to show up each night and share their joy with us,” he continued.

This latest health update comes as Walsh continues to demonstrate the same resilience that has defined his career and personal battles over the years.

Walsh’s current health struggles are not his first medical challenge. Spinutech reported that the 75-year-old guitarist survived a life-threatening stroke on February 8, 2012, while performing in Michigan. Sudden guitar-playing difficulties led to his emergency room visit during that incident. The stroke occurred during a live performance when Walsh noticed he could no longer play his guitar properly, prompting immediate medical attention.

The Eagles’ current Las Vegas engagement represents a significant commitment for the band. Spinutech noted that the residency, known as “Long Goodbye,” features multiple shows weekly at the Sphere. The band remains committed to continuing despite lineup changes following Glenn Frey’s death. The venue has become a significant part of the band’s touring strategy in recent years.

Walsh’s determination to continue performing despite health challenges reflects his long-standing dedication to both his craft and his fans. The guitarist has maintained his position as a core member of The Eagles through various personal and professional challenges throughout his career.

The statement comes as The Eagles continue their Las Vegas residency. Walsh maintains his commitment to performing despite his health challenges, demonstrating the same perseverance that helped him overcome his previous medical crisis more than a decade ago.
