Joe Elliott Admits Forgetting The Lyrics To Three Def Leppard Hits During A Recent Live Show

Def Leppard lead singer Joe Elliott shared his experiences from their ongoing tour on the latest episode of ‘Behind The Stadium Tour’ on Youtube. Elliott stated that he couldn’t remember some lyrics from their famous tracks and shared the reason behind it.

The Stadium Tour, which was Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe’s headlining tour along with Poison and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts as special guests, started on June 16, 2022, in Cumberland. The two bands planned to end it on September 9, 2022, in Las Vegas, but there’s always a possibility to add more dates. The shows were going great for the group members and attendees, and they described it as worth the wait.

Following the end of the tour’s first leg, Def Leppard icons talked about their three shows in Milwaukee, Kansas City, and Denver, and Elliott unveiled what happened to him during their Denver performance on July 21, 2022. The singer admitted that he forgot the lyrics of ‘Foolin’ from their best-selling album ‘Pyromania,’ ‘Take What You Want,’ which took place in their latest record ‘Diamond Star Halos,’ and ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’ from their platinum album ‘Hysteria.’

According to Elliott, the altitude affected him and highlighted that everyone makes mistakes. The Def Leppard vocalist said the crowd and shows were fantastic, but he missed spending time with his family, whom he hadn’t seen for weeks, due to the bands’ busy schedules. Elliott looks forward to meeting their fans again after a short break as Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe will return to the stage on August 5, 2022.

Joe Elliott shared his ideas, saying:

“Captain’s log, the last one for a while. Denver, Colorado, July 21, 2022, and the place was jammed, and I have been told. It’s amazing. I did forget the words three times. So I’m going to put down that as an altitude thing that affects my brain a little bit. I’ve forgotten words in ‘Foolin,’ ‘Take What You Want,’ and even ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me.’ That’s what we do. Everybody makes mistakes, and it proves that we’re not miming.

It was an amazing gig. What a fantastic crowd! A brilliant way to end the first leg of this tour. We’ve got eighteen shows under our belt and eighteen more left on this particular leg of the tour before we head off to other areas of the world. It has been fantastic, but I am looking forward to a couple of weeks off because I haven’t seen my kid or wife for five and a half weeks.

I’m looking forward to seeing my people again so I can build up the energy to go out and do this all again, starting in Boston on August 5. I will then be 63 years old. Can you believe that? Cheers to everybody who came to see us, and we will be back to see you again some other time. We look forward to the rest of the people we haven’t seen for a while, starting in August.”
