Joe Bonamassa tweeted that his performance in Bospop, Netherlands had to be canceled with ‘great disappointment.’ In the caption, he revealed the reason, saying:
“[I’m] really disappointed that due to severe weather, tonight’s show at Bospop has been canceled. See you next time.”
Further in the tweet, he explained that The National Weather Service intervened and warned of a possible thunderstorm. He wrote:
“The National Weather Service has announced code orange for thunderstorms for Sunday afternoon. This means that in addition to the showers, there is a chance of hail of 2 to 4 cm in diameter and heavy wind gusts of 75 to 100 km/h.”
About the possible safety hazards, Bonamassa said:
“This can cause damage and danger as a result of large hailstones, lightning strikes, and falling trees and flying objects.”
He concluded:
“We are sorry to have to inform you that due to this extreme weather, the local government has decided to cancel the Bospop Festival today for safety reasons.”
Joe is currently on tour, as his next show will take place on July 10 in France. You can check out the tour dates here.
