“I am proud to say that our band and our crew like we’re family,” Leach said. “So yeah, people know when I’m off and either they leave me alone for a little bit or somebody will tap me and say, ‘Hey bud, are you okay? You need to talk?'”
He reflected on generational attitudes toward masculinity and their lasting impact.
“If you were raised in the ’70s and ’80s, there’s that whole ‘suck it up, man up’ idea,” he continued. “So that’s still deep rooted in my psyche like, ‘Be a man.’ It’s so dumb. There’s more strength in honesty than running from someone.”
Leach concluded by outlining what he believes defines true masculinity in modern times.
“It is hard to be honest,” he said. “And I feel like that’s the ultimate goal as a man is to be honest, to be present, and to communicate. Those are things all men struggle with. I know that for sure.”
