Jeff Scott Soto made a post on Facebook to celebrate the birthday of his friend, the UFO member Michael Schenker. While doing so, he accidentally revealed a new project of the two. Scott wrote:

“Happy 69th Birthday to yet another Rock god and pioneer, Michael Schenker! I’ve had the honor of singing on his Heavy Hitters album where I did a cover of UFO’s ‘Doctor Doctor’…it was a Schenker tribute album that Michael did all the guitars himself on. This is the album that inspired my Duets Collection idea where I too made a tribute reboot of career songs with other singers joining me.”

In the post, he included a picture of the two together on stage when they first met. The post continued with some surprising upcoming project news:

“This pic is from 2010 where I met and sang Doctor Doctor with an array of friends and musical heroes in London. Lastly, I’ll appear this year on a reboot UFO’s ‘Lights Out’ on a special album he is working on… MS is a freaking legend, I’m honored to call him my friend!”

The Upcoming Reissue Of ‘Lights Out’

The sixth studio album, ‘Lights Out,’  became the band’s biggest album to date, reaching number 23 in the US. Though there are not many details about the upcoming reissue of UFO’s sixth studio album now, the reissue of the album has been added to the official UFO store, which is apparently a deluxe edition and is supposed to come out on February 2. Other than that, there have been no official explanations for a reboot.

Of course, it’s safe to wait for the official announcements, but as for the ‘accidental’ announcement Soto made, a new project is on the road.
