“Stay tuned there’s a lot coming your way soon,” Loomis added. “We’re gearing up for the next chapter of Nevermore, and we promise it will be worth the wait. With gratitude and respect, Jeff and Van — Nevermore.”

This announcement marks a significant milestone in Nevermore’s journey toward reformation.

Blabbermouth revealed that founding members Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams teased the band’s return in late 2024.

The band received over 650 submissions from musicians worldwide during their audition process. This overwhelming response demonstrated Nevermore’s lasting influence in the metal community. Loomis and Williams spent several months carefully selecting performers who could both honor the band’s legacy and bring fresh energy.

Chaoszine reported that this new chapter marks a departure from the band’s previous lineup. The band made a strategic decision to continue without original bassist Jim Sheppard. This choice reflects their commitment to exploring new creative directions while maintaining their signature sound.

The reformation follows more than a decade of silence since their last studio album, ‘The Obsidian Conspiracy,’ released in 2010. Loomis and Williams stayed active in various musical projects during this period. They now bring these accumulated experiences back to Nevermore’s resurrection.
