Former Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg made a farewell post, and it won the fans’ hearts.
In the recent post he shared on Instagram, Weinberg touched on the fact that it’s been ten years since he started his journey with Slipknot and also noted that it has become a part of something he grew up believing in. The drummer shared a picture of his masks throughout his years with Slipknot and a few pictures from the very first days of the beginning of his journey. He wrote a heartfelt description:
“For 19 years, my goals in music and art have always centered around maintaining some sort of forward motion. It feels a bit paradoxical at times to look in the rearview mirror, but some moments and milestones are significant enough to take pause and reflect.”
“Today marks the 10th anniversary of becoming a part of something I grew up believing in. I don’t hold onto many mementos, but to me these represent a decade of focused and impassioned dedication to that forward movement. Throughout that time, I learned much about application, tenacity, and the satisfaction of committing to breaking through creative thresholds; reaching those artistic goals through constant, concentrated hard work — all fueled by true love of the music.”
He noted that he felt like the first two masks felt like an entirely different personality than the remaining two, and did not forget to mention his experience with the band for ten years:
“In some respects, the person who wore the mask on the right and the person who wore the mask on the left feel like two completely different individuals — separated only by experience gained, miles traveled, friendships created, and a connection to the instrument strengthened and deepened so far beyond what I thought was possible.”
The rocker finished off with a note to his fans:
“The memories and experiences that these four masks represent, I wouldn’t trade for the world. And I’m honored that you all have been there, every step of the way. So — here’s to you, the last 10 years, and wherever the next 10 years bring us.”
New Drummer Speculations

Since the drummer was fired, there have been speculations as to who the next drummer would be. Since his departure, drummer Jeramie Kling has been actively using his social media account, and one post has added more fuel to these speculations. In one of his posts that featured a new drum kit, the drummer used a hashtag associated with Slipknot’s ‘The Heretic Anthem.’
It was later clarified by Corey Taylor himself that he was not the new drummer, in fact, he ‘wasn’t even on the list.’
The Comments on Weinberg’s Posts

Weinberg’s latest post has received many heartfelt comments and also some comments that slammed Slipknot as well. The fans touched on Weinberg’s matureness despite being the youngest member, and so on. Here’s what one fan said:
“Jay is literally the youngest member of the band but is the most mature and humble out of all of them, their loss.”
Another said:
“The fact they did this just before your 10th year in the band is such bad juju. Your positive attitude is honestly such a vibe Jay. I can’t wait to see what you do next.”
Another fan shared their gratitude with the following words:
“No bitterness, no hate, just gratitude-you’re a true gentleman Jay! You brought such tenacity and life to the albums you played on and will always be in my eyes the goat.”
