James Hetfield continues pursuing different lines of work besides his successful career with Metallica. According to Deadline, the vocalist will accompany Peter Dinklage in his new film project.

‘Game of Thrones’ actor prepares to bring the 2013 novel, ‘The Thicket,’ by Joe Lansdale, onto the silver screen as a producer and an actor. Dinklage’s dark western thriller project will feature many names, like Juliette Lewis and Levon Hawke, in addition to Metallica’s lead vocalist.

The movie’s plot will follow the historical crime story of Jack and his sister Lula, who a violent killer, Cut Throat Bill, kidnaped. Peter Dinklage will play the bounty hunter, Shorty, aiding Jack in his quest.

The actor commented on the movie production as follows:

“I’m so very excited to bring Joe Lansdale’s riveting story to the screen. A journey into the heart of darkness to find love and return it to its rightful place.”

While most cast members and their set roles were shared, James Hetfield’s role remains undisclosed. However, the vocalist has some experience in the genre, as this movie will not be his first time in a crime narrative. Hetfield played a part in Netflix’s 2019 crime drama ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’ as Bob Hayward, the first police officer who arrested Ted Bundy.

After his performance was presented to the public, it received positive feedback. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live, Zac Efron, who played Ted Bundy in the 2019 production, appreciated the Metallica singer’s acting skills.

Referring to Hetfield’s appearance, Efron stated:

“James Hetfield, to his credit, absolutely nailed the part; he just crushed it. It’s like he’s been acting his own life. He had no fear. He did a great job. I was ready to maybe give James Hetfield [an acting] tip, but he didn’t ask for a single one. James Hetfield is the sh*t!”

Luckily, this film will not be the only project Hetfield will be in this year. Metallica will also be releasing their new album, ‘72 Seasons‘ in April and take the stage for a Europe tour around the same time, which a US tour will follow in August.
