Jack Osbourne recently provided new details about the highly anticipated Ozzy Osbourne biopic. He revealed that an actor has been selected for the lead role in a statement shared on SiriusXM.

The update focused on the current development phase of the project and the casting decision for portraying the legendary rock star.

“We are in full steam in the next phase of development with this movie,” Jack Osbourne said. “That’s an acted movie that we’ve been developing with Sony studios for, like, six years already.”

He continued to share more specific details about the production progress.

“We have our decided pick, and I can’t say anything [yet], but it’s a phenomenal, phenomenal actor,” he continued. “We have a director attached, and we’re doing a rewrite right now.”

The biopic has been in development with Sony Studios for approximately six years. The project is now moving into its next phase of production.

This latest update provides insight into the long-awaited project that has been generating significant interest among fans and industry observers alike.

Loaded Radio reported that the upcoming Ozzy Osbourne biopic is being developed alongside Sony Studios and Polygram Entertainment. The film is officially in active development with both a director and lead actor now attached to the project.

The film’s narrative approach has been carefully crafted to focus on a specific aspect of Ozzy’s life. Blunt Magazine noted that the biopic centers on Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s love story. This provides a more intimate perspective on the rock legend’s personal life rather than solely focusing on his musical career.

The screenplay has been entrusted to an experienced writer with a proven track record in music biopics. Blabbermouth revealed that the script is being written by Lee Hall, who previously wrote the screenplay for Elton John’s successful biopic “Rocketman.”

The project represents a significant investment in bringing Ozzy Osbourne’s story to the big screen. The production team is working to ensure authenticity and quality in their portrayal of one of rock music’s most iconic figures. The six-year development period demonstrates the careful attention being paid to getting the story right before moving into full production.
