Jack Osbourne recently addressed rumors about his health and weight loss. He responded to critics who suggested he appeared “grossly underweight” in a video shared on Instagram.
The statement came after speculation arose about his appearance and potential use of weight loss drugs like Ozempic.
“I cannot believe I’m having to actually make this f*cking video. If I see one more article written about me saying how I’m sick, I’m grossly underweight. What’s going on? It’s f*cking insane,” Osbourne said. “I have lost no weight since I got out of the jungle doing I’m A Celebrity, what? Six months ago? I’ve been the same f*cking weight.”
He explained that his appearance change was due to a simple grooming choice rather than weight loss.
“The only difference is I shaved my beard and opted for a creepy moustache. That’s the only f*cking difference,” he continued. “Now if we want to back up and we want to get real f***ing personal, I’ve been consistently but slowly losing weight for the last three and a half years.”
Osbourne provided context about his weight management journey over recent years.
“I shot up to about 220 pounds three and a half years ago and decided that I wanted to make some changes. So I did. What’s the big f*cking deal?” he said. “I’m five foot eight and a half and a 155 pounds (around 70 kgs). It is perfectly healthy.”
The son of Ozzy Osbourne used the Instagram video to directly confront the ongoing speculation about his health and weight.
The recent controversy highlights the intense scrutiny celebrities face regarding their physical appearance. AmoMama reported that fans noticed his visibly slimmer look in recent Instagram videos and family photos. This quickly led to comments about his health and speculation about potential use of weight-loss medications.
The rumors gained traction partly due to Jack’s medical history. Fans are particularly sensitive to changes in his appearance because he has previously been open about having multiple sclerosis, a condition he was diagnosed with in 2012. This medical background has made supporters more vigilant about any perceived changes in his health or physical condition.
IBTimes UK noted that Jack has not publicly confirmed any illness. There is no evidence that he has taken Ozempic or any similar weight-loss drug. The speculation appears to be based solely on visual observations from his social media posts and public appearances.
The timing of these rumors coincides with Jack’s recent media appearances, where he has been vocal about various topics including celebrity politics. However, he has largely refrained from directly addressing the weight-loss speculation until this recent Instagram video. He chose instead to focus on other aspects of his public commentary.
The incident reflects broader societal concerns about body image and the pressure placed on public figures to maintain certain physical standards. This is particularly relevant when their appearance changes become the subject of widespread online discussion and media coverage.
