Inside Of Ronnie Wood’s Health Status, Who Survived Two Cancer Diagnosis
Ronnie Wood joined The Jeff Beck Group in 1967 after appearing in bands like the Birds and the Creation for a short period. The fans and the music critics highly praised Wood’s talents in the group’s albums entitled ‘Truth’ and ‘Beck-Ola.’ In 1975, he joined the Rolling Stones, replacing Mick Taylor temporarily. The following year, he became a permanent member and was credited as the co-writer of numerous songs like ‘Black Limousine’ and ‘One Hit (To the Body).’ Wood also focused on his solo career and released albums.
The musician opened up about his struggle with alcohol addiction at various times. Wood entered rehab a few times due to his increased alcohol consumption in the early 2000s. After a while, he was diagnosed with cancer two times. For the rocker, getting cancer twice a row was a complicated process. However, he managed to beat two of them and continued to lead a healthy life.
Ronnie Wood Has A Healthy Life After Beating Cancer Twice
After he entered rehab several times to get rid of his alcohol addiction in the early 2000s, Ronnie Wood was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017. For the treatment, the doctors removed part of his lung. It took attention that Wood was rejecting chemotherapy at that period. As the rocker revealed, he refused to get chemotherapy as he did not want to lose his hair.
Ronnie Wood explained his refusing chemotherapy:
“It’s more; I wasn’t going to lose my hair. This hair wasn’t going anywhere. I said, ‘No way.’ And I just kept the faith it would be all right.”
Since cancer did not spread in the other areas, the musician regained his health after the mass in the lung was removed. Unfortunately, Wood revealed in a 2021 interview with The Sun that he struggled with small-cell cancer during the pandemic’s lockdowns, which potentially could spread quickly. The rocker stated during the same interview that he tried to be positive and strong throughout this challenging process. As he confirmed, he beat cancer for a second time.
In his words, Ronnie Wood said:
“I’ve had cancer two different ways now. I had lung cancer in 2017, and I had small-cell more recently that I fought in the last lockdown. I came through with the all-clear. All I can do is stay positive in my attitude, be strong and fight it, and the rest is up to my higher power.”
Wood also revealed in 2021 that he was sober for ten years. Apparently, the Rolling Stones musician has been living a healthy life after entering rehab and having cancer treatment twice. Wood, who is very active on social media, does not neglect to share the special moments he recently had with his bandmates during the Sixty Tour.
