Imagine Dragons recently shared a tweet to announce that they had to postpone their Latin America shows since the lead singer Dan Reynolds has been struggling with some health issues.

Shortly after the release of their fifth studio album, ‘Mercury – Act 1,’ Imagine Dragons announced the first dates of the Mercury World Tour. The extensive concert tour started in Miami on February 6, 2022, and then they moved to Canada for more shows. After the North American leg ended with a performance in Montreal on May 4, 2022, the band headed toward Europe.

Following the European shows between June and July 2022, they were back in North America in August and September to meet more fans. The band’s next station would be South America, but they unfortunately announced with a social media post just one day before that the upcoming shows were postponed due to Dan Reynolds’ hemorrhaged vocal cords and a nodule. In addition to those, the singer has also been struggling with an LCL sprain in his knee.

In their tweet, the band explained that it was hard for them to decide to postpone the Latin American leg of the world tour. Still, Reynolds’ ongoing health issues currently prevent him from going on stage and performing, as that would seriously harm his vocal cords. The Imagine Dragons members said they were sorry if that caused any inconvenience for the fans, but reassured them that they will try to announce the new dates as soon as possible.

The band’s tweet follows:

“We are very sorry to share that we have to postpone our Latin America shows. In our twelve years as a band, we’ve never had to cancel a tour (and could count the number of shows on one hand). We hope you guys know how hard it is for us to postpone these dates, and we plan to make it up to you soon.

Some of you may know that Dan has been struggling with hemorrhaged vocal cords and a nodule ever since the last tour leg, and he’s been warned by his doctor that going out right now could cause a rupture and irreparably harm his voice. Unexpectedly, he’s now also dealing with a fairly serious LCL sprain in his knee that will require a brace and some rehabilitation for some time.

We just can’t give you the show you expect and deserve right now. We will keep everyone updated as we figure out new dates, and we are so sorry for those who made travel and other plans to see us. Refunds will be made available for those who can’t make the new dates.

All our love, Dragons.”
