Greta Van Fleet Cancel Upcoming Shows Due To Josh Kiszka’s Ear Injury

Greta Van Fleet recently took to their Instagram to announce that they had to postpone their upcoming shows to allow Josh Kiszka to recover from an ear injury.

On April 16, 2021, Greta Van Fleet released their highly anticipated second studio album titled ‘The Battle At Garden’s Gate,’ but they couldn’t embark on a tour to promote their release due to the pandemic. After the easing of the restrictions, GVF finally embarked on a tour in spring 2022, starting with a show on March 10 in Kalamazoo.

Unfortunately, they had to postpone their tour dates on March 16 because Jake and Josh Kiszka were diagnosed with pneumonia while on the road. The band then postponed the show on March 16 in Flint to September 13 and the performance on March 17 in Ypsilanti to September 14. On March 21, the band announced further cancellations of dates between March 22 to April 2 because Jake Kiszka was still recovering.

The band returned to touring when Jake Kiszka finally recovered. While they were in the midst of their North American tour, Josh Kiszka recently ruptured his eardrum. The unfortunate incident happened during a show in Bangor, Maine, on October 8. So, Van Fleet had to postpone three of their shows once again. They already had a nine-day break in their schedule after the Bangor concert, so it prevented them from postponing more shows.

In their latest Instagram post, Greta Van Fleet shared an announcement from Josh Kiszka. The frontman said they had postponed the Raleigh, Greenville, and Jacksonville shows. He revealed he needed more time to heal, and the band would announce the new dates as soon as possible. According to Kiszka, deciding such a thing is devastating, but he looks forward to performing on stage for his beloved fans. Moreover, the musician said the tickets for these shows are still valid and can be refunded at the point of purchase.

In the post, Josh Kiszka made the following announcement:

“To our fans in Raleigh, Greenville, and Jacksonville,

It’s with a heavy heart that we must reschedule our shows this upcoming week. During our last show in Bangor, I ruptured an eardrum, and upon further evaluation, I have just been advised it needs more time to heal fully than initially anticipated. I’m working closely with my team to ensure I get proper rest to finish the year strong.”

He then continued:

“We are working on rescheduling these shows and will announce the new dates as soon as possible. If you would still like to attend the show on the new date, simply hold on to your ticket, and it will be valid. If you would like a refund, they will be available at the point of purchase as soon as the new dates are announced.

I’m gutted to do this, and I cannot begin to express how much I appreciate your love and support every night. It’s devastating for me to make this announcement, but I know it’s imperative to keep performing. Thank you for sticking by us through thick and thin, and I look forward to seeing all of your lovely faces soon. Love, Josh.”
