Greg Billings recently updated fans on Brian Johnson’s health while sitting down for the latest episode of ‘AC/DC Beyond the Thunder.’

The podcast took place on September 19, only weeks before AC/DC’s upcoming performances at California’s Power Trip Festival. So, as the host asked Billings, a close friend and collaborator of Johnson, about the vocalist’s health and hearing loss, the rocker briefly said:

“I just spent the week with Brian, and he’s all excited about the Power Trip show. He’s been getting in shape. He’s so fired up. They’re going to rehearse for five weeks doing nothing but playing.”

It’s not exactly a secret that Johnson had been dealing with hearing loss and even had to leave the band to get better. AC/DC had recruited Axl Rose to fill in for Brian’s place, though the singer wasn’t too happy about that.

However, as it seems that Johnson is returning for the fest, in a recent AC/DC statement, the band announced that there would be lineup changes, as one original member will not be accompanying the band in their gig at CA.
