The Wildhearts frontman was diagnosed with cancer and chose not to pursue treatment. He shared details of the ceremony on social media.

About the wedding, Ginger Wildheart said: “Taylor was best man. Maggie was ring bearer and flower girl.”

Previously, when discussing his decision to refuse cancer treatment, Ginger Wildheart explained his mindset. “My brain is a fantastic place at the moment,” he said. “I’m living every second in the moment. When you live in the moment, you can’t be worried about the future, and you can’t be worried about the past. It’s the only place to be. I learned how to do that about three years before I got the diagnosis.”

“But to practice that now in real time after I found out that is great,” he continued. “‘Cause I would say, ‘Oh, good time to find out that I’m gonna die of cancer.’ But we’re all gonna (expletive) die. It’s about how much you live. And I’m living. And life is working so well in my favor. People wanna (Expletive) write to me and tell me how great I am and how much I’ve meant to them. I want ever one of my friends to have this much joy in their life.”

The couple marked the occasion with family and their dog present. Ginger Wildheart shared the wedding news through his social media.

Ginger Wildheart’s cancer diagnosis came in March 2026. During The Wildhearts’ More Satanic Rites UK tour in December 2025, he began experiencing severe pains that sometimes forced him to take short breaks during performances. Tests confirmed he has Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. In his statement at the time, Wildheart said he would not undergo treatment and stated he had two to three years left to say goodbye to everyone, adding that he would continue playing until the very end.

Following his diagnosis, Wildheart continued to write songs for The Wildhearts and several solo projects. His scheduled live appearances, including a performance at Takedown Festival, proceeded as planned.

The Wildhearts released their most recent album, Satanic Rites of the Wildhearts, in March 2025. After Ginger’s cancer diagnosis became public, guitarist CJ Wildheart, who had departed The Wildhearts in 2022 when the band disbanded, reached out to express interest in reuniting with the group’s most celebrated lineup.
