Ghost have introduced their new frontman for upcoming tours—Papa V Perpetua.

The band quietly announced their new frontman during Black Sabbath’s reunion news. However, they later made it official on social media. “We wish to inform you V is coming ………. To Birmingham on July 5th. Slide for more information. #BlackSabbath,” Ghost said in their special show announcement.

Ghost usually dramatically removes their frontman at the end of an album and tour. But in 2023, after touring for ‘Impera,’ Papa Emeritus IV just ‘retired’ onstage. Papa stated at the time, via Loudwire, “I know a lot of people are expecting some sort of explosion, implosion, a miracle where I just disappear in favor of a successor.”

He continued, “I’m going to take this ice cube and I’m going to put it down my pants. I usually don’t do that, but that is to make me feel a little bit better because now I’m focusing on that and not on you.”

“Just in case you thought I was pissing myself, which I’m sure would have been the great finale. But you know what? This finale, it’s just going to be my last show, and I’m going to do my best to deliver that show to you. And that would just have to be enough, OK?,” the singer added.

Later last year, Ghost also announced a 2025 world tour, starting April 15 in Manchester, England. The U.S. leg runs from July 9 in Baltimore to August 16 in Houston, with a Mexico City show on September 24.

“This show will be a phone-free experience. Phones will be secured in Yondr pouches. Guests maintain possession of their phones at all times,” they said in a statement on their website.

Ghost’s Papa V Perpetua will appear at the ‘Back to the Beginning’ concert for Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath on July 5. Ghost haven’t revealed his look yet, but soon, he’ll take the stage.
