As Halloween 2023 rolled around, rock stars from across the music world pulled out their most imaginative costumes. They expressed their creativity through photo sessions they posted on Instagram and X. The artists dressed up in style, whether at parties or at home, to celebrate Halloween.
Best Dressed
In the Best Dressed category, we’ll spotlight the rock stars who nailed their Halloween costumes in 2023 with their impressive outfits. They certainly did justice to this time of the year with their Halloween spirit and style.
Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne dressed up as Kanye West and Bianca Censori for Halloween. Ozzy dressed as Kanye, wearing all-black, including a hooded jacket, sunglasses, gloves, and sneakers. Sharon, on the other hand, wore only nude tights and clear heels while holding a purple pillow in front of her. Ozzy wrote in the caption of their photo:
“Happy Halloween.”
Charlie Benante

Charlie Benante from Anthrax and Butcher Babies’ Carla Harvey chose to dress up as Herman and Lily Munster from ‘The Munsters.’ The drummer captioned their photo, writing:
“Happy Halloween from 1313 Mockingbird Lane. Channeling our inner Munsters. We had so much fun recreating our favorite spooky couple last week with the help of Vince Verdi. Swipe for all treats, no tricks. Thank you.”
Jerry Cantrell

Alice In Chains’ Jerry Cantrell, on the other hand, dressed as the fictional character Freddy Krueger from the ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ film series. He wore heavy make-up on his face to get into this character and posed with his cat, writing in the caption:
“Happy Halloween, everyone.”

Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello was all in black in his Halloween costume with a cloak. He also took a sword in his hand. While he didn’t specifically express who he portrayed, some of the fan comments guessed it was either the character of Geralt of Rivia from ‘The Witcher’ or another character from ‘Game of Thrones’ or ‘House of the Dragon.’ The rocker wrote:
“Hail, and well met!”
Worst Dressed
In the Worst Dressed category, we’ll highlight some of the less impressive and quirky costume choices made by rock stars during Halloween 2023. Here are some of the standout outfits that didn’t quite hit the mark but still showed their playful spirit.

Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows put on a mask, making him look like the Mario character from the game series ‘Super Mario.’ The frontman wrote in the caption of his post on X:
“I’ve been driving all over town with nowhere to go, just giggling to myself over people’s reactions. I’m a f*cking child.”
Rob Halford

Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford, on the other hand, posed with his partner, Thomas Pence, showing Thomas dressing as one of the Predators from the film series ‘Predator’ and Halford in a colorful costume. The singer wrote in the caption:
“Heavy Halloween. Luv. Rob and Thomas.”
Alex Skolnick, along with Ash Costello from New Year’s Day and a few other rock musicians, also embraced the Halloween spirit. More photos with different costumes will probably continue to come from the rock and metal world in the coming days.
