Anthrax bassist Frank Bello recently revealed details about the band’s upcoming album release timeline. He shared his excitement about the new record in an interview with Let There Be Talk.

Bello discussed the band’s plans for their highly anticipated new LP. He expressed enthusiasm about both the music and their updated team approach.

“Later this year. Very psyched. As fans, as we are, we are very psyched about this record. Later this year, it’ll be coming out,” Bello said.

The bassist also outlined the band’s strategic approach to the album rollout and their recent organizational changes.

“I think the way they do this now, the new cycle, is they put a single out and then they put another single out, and then the record comes out. I’m leaving it to the powers that be to do all that stuff. And we have new management, new agent, all that stuff. So, there’s a great plan going ahead. And you’re gonna be seeing us a lot,” he continued.

Anthrax prepares for increased activity with their refreshed team structure supporting the new release.

This upcoming album marks a significant milestone for the thrash metal veterans. It will be their first new studio release in a decade. New York Today reported that the band is gearing up to release their 12th studio album in May 2026, their first new music since For All Kings in 2016.

The band has been working extensively on the new material. Reports suggest this could be their most intense work yet. New York Today indicated that the album is being described as the band’s “heaviest” yet, with parts that are “really hard to play.” The album has been mixed at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 by producer Jay Ruston.

The timing of this release coincides with the band’s current touring activities. New York Today noted that Anthrax is currently on a North America tour with Megadeth and Exodus. This provides them with additional momentum as they prepare for the album launch.

Chaoszine revealed that the album is tentatively scheduled for release in early 2026. It will be distributed in North America through Megaforce, marking another significant partnership in the band’s evolving business strategy that Bello referenced in his interview.
